The Mission
" Illness is universal. Access to health care is not. "
Millions around the world are dying from preventable conditions each year without getting the treatment and care that they need. Thankfully, we now have a chance to change this. SSHH provides preventive oral health treatment & restoration, medical care and education for children and adults in disadvantage regions initiating with Haiti and diversifying throughout the Caribbean and the United States.

The goal of Shimmering Smiles Healthy Hearts Foundation is to go into rural and low socioeconomic areas and provide free dental and medical health care to these areas where such facilities are not accessible or limited. In addition we want to educate and assist families to develop the necessary skills and resources to improve their health status, family functioning, self-sufficiency and a sustainable lifestyle long after the service is done. Services are, but not limited to, for the dental sector: dental prophylaxis, fluoride treatment, tooth extraction, tooth filling, sealants and patient oral health education. For the medical/nursing sector: physical assessments, administration of medications, tending to wounds, health and nutrition education for children, elders, pregnant woman, and provide nutritional snacks for the children.

The foundation is seeking grant opportunities to financially support the foundation’s primary mission. It is the mission, and purpose of Shimmering Smiles, Healthy Hearts Foundation to address, educate, coordinate and provide medical/dental aid to areas where the needs are great and lively hood are threatened. With its expansion, Shimmering Smiles, Healthy Hearts will operate and initiate its mission in Haiti and will continue in countries around the world and within the United States where we are looking where we may fulfill our mission!

We've been inspired by the power that community health workers have
to bring care to their own communities, and in so doing, strengthen their country's health systems. These workers are making it possible to bring health care within reach of everyone everywhere. In fact, in a recently published article in the Journal of Global Health, Dr. Henry Perry and colleagues demonstrated that expanding the population coverage of evidence-based interventions in communities across 73 low and middle income countries could save the lives of at least 2.5 million people. It's up to all of us to rally behind them. It's up to all of us to provide the support they need to save lives at the last mile.
